Seven years ago I bought my first Canon DSLR and from the beginning, Tori has been apart of my journey. While learning the basics of photography, he’s been a “test model” on several occasions. I’ve enjoyed watching him transition from a professional athlete to a tv/radio sports analyst. A few months ago, he called to share some exciting news. He told me he was moving to Los Angeles to work for the NFL Network!! I was ecstatic!
Over the years we’ve had countless conversations about creating torigurley.com. He’d brush me off and tell me he would purchase his domain AND of course it would never happen LOL!! A few weeks ago, the topic came up AGAIN over happy hour and I told him it was now or never. He agreed, and the following day we came up with a strategy. The domain was FINALLY purchased, photoshoots were scheduled, the web was scrubbed for content and we bounced ideas off each other on how to showcase his brand.
Our first shoot was at the NFL Network he turned to me and said, “this doesn’t feel like work.” I agreed. We were in our element, following our passions and doing what we loved. If someone would’ve told me seven years ago Tori would be on television talking about football and I’d be photographing him working at a major network, I would’ve told them they were dreaming!! There’s nothing more exciting than seeing someone follow their passion while killing it! I am excited to see where the next seven years takes us…keep dreaming, anything is possible!
